RVYC Squib Fleet
2009 Championship
General principles
- as further defined within the Rules
* The Championship will
use the published 2009 racing programme of the R.V.Y.C. for National
Squibs.
* Qualifying Points (QPs) will be awarded to each boat according
to its finishing position in each of the club’s series of races.
* At the completion of the last series, Final QPs will be
determined for each boat and the top boats will then compete in an
end-of- season
mini-series to find the Champion.
* Those not eligible for the Championship mini-series may sail for
the Mid-Fleet Challenge Cup (rules to be determined).

two only of the Group A Series and two only of the Group B Series shall
be added together for each boat to give its Final QPs.
4.
Championship Series
The Championship Series shall be three races and shall be sailed in
accordance with RVYC 2009 Sailing Instructions except that if all three
races are sailed, one discard shall be allowed. The six boats with the
highest number of Final QPs under Rule 3 shall be eligible to compete in

sixth place, the boat with the best QPs from three only of the Group B
series shall go forward, and if further tied, all such tied boats shall

participate in the series shall not be allowed to participate in the
Mid-Fleet Challenge Cup. Its place in the Championship Series may be
offered to next boat with lower Final QPs.

abandoned, these shall be re-sailed on Saturday 17 October 2009. A

eligibility for the Championship series may be deemed DNC for that race
by the Class Captain.
6. Protests and arbitration
Racing protests shall be dealt with in accordance with RVYC SIs and all
parties shall use their best endeavours to resolve these diligently. In
the event that a race protest has not been resolved two days before the
Championship Series is scheduled to take place, and where the outcome is
material to the eligibility of boats for the Championship Series, the
protested race shall be deemed as not sailed for the purpose of
determining the particular qualifying series and the allocation of QPs.
All other disputes or
interpretations of the Rules shall be arbitrated by the Class Captain,
or failing that (or in the event of a conflict of interest) by the
Sailing Committee whose decision shall be final.
